This week, our sensory table got a full Earth Day makeover, and the little ones are absolutely loving it! 🐛🌸
We’re digging through “dirt” to uncover hidden insects 🪲, planting a colorful flower garden 🌺, and practicing those tiny, important fine motor skills by pressing flowers into pots filled with pretend “soil.”
But we didn’t stop there. We’re also exploring the world of recycling by touching and sorting different types of materials, plastic, glass, metal, paper, and organic. We talk about what each one is and how sorting them helps keep our Earth clean and healthy. Even the littlest learners get it when they can hold it in their hands! ♻️
Our book this week is I Love Earth, which pairs perfectly with everything we’re doing at the table. We’re keeping it simple and age-appropriate: reduce, reuse, recycle. Three little words that can make a big difference! 📖💚
Sensory play is one of my favorite ways to plant seeds, literally and figuratively. 🌿 These kiddos are building curiosity, strengthening their fine motor skills, and growing a love for the world around them, all while getting their hands gloriously messy.
Here’s to a Happy Earth Day from our little corner of the world! 🌎✨
